The Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets face off on Sunday in Orchard Park for an AFC East NFL matchup.
The Buffalo Bills are one of the few teams in the NFL who haven’t had a bye week but they are just 3-7 on the season thus far. The Bills offense is averaging 19.9 points and 332.9 yards per game and they have a minus one turnover ratio. E.J. Manuel is back at QB and the rookie has completed 56.6 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and four interceptions. Fred Jackson has rushed for 557 yards and six touchdowns and he has 31 receptions out of the backfield and C.J. Spiller has rushed for 501 yards and he has 19 receptions. Steve Johnson is the Bills leading receiver but he is questionable for this one and Robert Woods is doubtful but Marquise Goodwin has emerged as a legitimate deep threat. The Bills defense allows 25.9 points and 355.9 yards per game. Kiko Alonso has 99 tackles and is a probable Rookie of the Year, Aaron Williams has 59 tackles, and Mario Williams has 11 sacks. The Bills have been tough at home with two of their three wins coming there.

The New York Jets are in second place in the AFC East and if the season ended today they would be in the playoffs. The Jets offense is averaging 18.8 points and 331.2 yards per game but they are minus 10 in turnover ratio. Geno Smith as completed 58.1 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and 13 interceptions and he has been sacked 30 times. Bilal Powell has rushed for 414 yards and he has 19 receptions and Chris Ivory as rushed for 369 yards. Stephen Hill has 23 receptions and David Nelson has 16 receptions while Santonio Holmes is questionable for this one. Defensively the Jets are allowing 25.7 points and 325.2 yards per game. David Harris has 68 tackles, Demario Davis has 60 tackles, and Muhammed Wilkerson has 8.0 sacks. The Jets have surprised a lot of people this season with their strong play.
Buffalo is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 6-2 against the spread following a loss, and 4-0 against the spread after gaining less than 250 yards in their previous game. New York is 1-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games after allowing more than 350 yards in their previous game, and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games in November. New York has covered the point spread in six of the last eight meetings of these two.
With two rookie QB’s we have some inconsistency expected here but with that I would rather have the QB who is at home so my play is on the Bills.
