NFL Updates: Andre Johnson's Upcoming Milestone, Week 12 Schedule and More
November 21, 2013
Week 12 officially begins this evening, and there are plenty of storylines around the NFL to follow in the meantime. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players and situations around the league and see if we can get a better idea of what to expect in the coming days. Here’s the latest.
Saints-Falcons Injuries: Tonight’s Saints-Falcons game on “Thursday Night Football” will kick off Week 12 in the NFL, and though the records tell a different story, it should be a pretty decent matchup. Let’s take a look at the injury situations for both teams so we can get a feel for who’s going to be out on the field.
Let’s start with the Falcons. They’ll have at least one player out for tonight: DE Malliciah Goodman. Their quartet of questionables includes DT Jonathan Babineaux, QB Dominique Davis, TE Tony Gonzalez and S Zeke Motta. All others are probable: DT Peria Jerry, RB Jacquizz Rodgers, T Jeremy Trueblood and LB Paul Worrilow.
Now let’s check out the Saints. The questionable designation dominates here: CB Chris Carr, G Jahri Evans, G Ben Grubbs, DE Akiem Hicks, RB Darren Sproles, CB Rod Sweeting, S Kenny Vaccaro, DE Tyrunn Walker and TE Benjamin Watson. As for the other four, they’re probable: TE Jimmy Graham, DE Cameron Jordan, G Tim Lelito and LB Curtis Lofton.

Johnson Nearing Milestone: If the Texans’ Andre Johnson has a big outing this weekend against the Jaguars, he could find himself in some exclusive company. He needs just 10 more receptions to reach 900 in his career, which is a plateau that only 14 other NFL players have reached.
It could happen: the last time Johnson played against Jacksonville, he amassed 14 grabs for a whopping 273 yards. He has 19 career 10-catch, 100-yard outings to his credit, which is an NFL record.
Matt McGloin, QB, Oakland Raiders: The murky Raiders QB situation continues to become even more so. McGloin was named Oakland’s starter yesterday, even though fellow signal-caller Terrelle Pryor was able to return to practice.
McGloin played pretty well in Week 11 against the Texans, which was his first career start. He posted 197 yards and three touchdowns in the 28-23 win. Meanwhile, Pryor (who is coming off a knee injury) hasn’t done so well. He’s got one TD pass and eight picks in his last four games.
NFL Week 12 Schedule: The Saints and Falcons will be kicking off Week 12 this evening on “Thursday Night Football.” Here’s a look at the complete schedule, as well as the start times and TV networks you can catch the games on.
