The Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts face off on Sunday in Arizona in a week 12 NFL battle of teams thinking post season.
The Arizona Cardinals have won three games in a row and over that span have gone from also rans to playoff contenders. The Cardinals haven’t faced the stiffest of completion over that span but they have beaten the team they have played and in the end that is what matters most. The Cardinals offense is averaging 21.4 points and 326.4 yards per game. Carsona Palmer has completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 2,573 yards with 14 touchdowns and 15 interceptions and he has been sacked 27 times. Rashard Mendenhall is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry but Andre Ellington has provided a spark averaging 6.2 yards per carry. Larry Fitzgerald has 45 receptions and six touchdowns and Michael Floyd has 42 catches. Defensively Arizona is allowing 21.2 points and 324.9 yards per game and they have a plus one turnover ratio. Karlos Dansby has 83 tackles, Tyrann Mathieu has 61 tackles, and John Abraham has seven sacks. The Cardinals appear to peaking at the right time.

The Indianapolis Colts have won three of their last four games and they are looking to extend their lead in the AFC South. The Colts have had some real odd moments in their losses but overall it is tough to argue with their record and body of work. The Colts offense is averaging 25.2 points and 349.9 yards per game. Andrew Luck has completed 59.4 percent of his passes for 2,430 yards with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. Trent Richardson and Donald Brown are both seeing carries in the backfield with Brown being more effective gaining 5.9 yards per carry and with Richardson being the better blocker. T.Y. Hilton has 46 receptions and five touchdowns and Coby Fleener has 37 catches and three touchdowns. The Colts defense is allowing 22 points and 365 yards per game and they have a plus four turnover ratio. Jerrell Freeman has 80 tackles and 3.5 sacks, Antoine Bethea has 67 tackles, and Robert Mathis has 13.5 sacks. The Colts look to be a playoff team for the second consecutive year.
Arizona is 3-7 against the spread following a game in which they covered the point spread, 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 1-5 against the spread following a game that they allowed less than 15 points. Indianapolis is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, and 21-9-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
This is going to be a physical game and will come down to the kicking game and field position and I look for it to come in under the total.
