Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys Pick-Odds-Prediction 12/22/13Ryan's Free NFL Football Pick Against the Spread
The Washington Redskins host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon.
The Dallas Cowboys travel to Washington to play the Redskins on Sunday.
The Cowboys dropped to 7-7 on the year after losing at home to Green Bay 37-36 last Sunday. Dallas blew a 23-point lead and could not find a way to win the game late. The Cowboys produced 466 yards, with 134 coming on the ground and 332 thru the air. Dallas was not good on 3rd down conversions, they had 7 penalties for 79 yards, and Tony Romo threw 2 interceptions. Romo completed 29 of 48 passes for 358 yards with 2 scores, while WR Dez Bryant caught 11 balls for 153 yards and a touchdown. RB DeMarco Murray played great in the first half but did not get the ball enough in the second half. Murray carried the ball 18 times for 134 yards and a touchdown in the loss. The Cowboys defense allowed 433 total yards, 33 second half points, and forced one interception on Sunday. On the year, Romo has thrown for over 3,600 yards with 29 touchdowns. Bryant leads the team with 81 catches for 1,061 yards and 11 touchdowns, while Murray has rushed for 977 yards and 8 scores. Dallas has been up and down all year as they have failed to win three straight games, but at the same time have not lost three straight contests. Dallas will try to stay in the playoff hunt on the road this weekend; the Cowboys are 2-5 on the road this season.
The Washington Redskins dropped to 3-11 on the year after losing at Atlanta 27-26 last Sunday. The Redskins scored a touchdown late and could have kicked an extra point to force the game into overtime but they elected to go for two and did not convert. Washington produced 476 total yards but turned the ball over a whopping seven times. QB Kurt Cousins, who is filling in for Robert Griffin III, completed 29 of 45 passes for 381 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. RB Alfred Morris carried the ball 18 times for 98 yards, while WR Pierre Garcon caught 7 balls for 129 yards and 1 touchdown. The Redskins defense played well, allowing only 243 yards and forcing two turnovers. On the year, Washington ranks an impressive 3rd in the league in rushing yards this year, averaging over 140 yards per contest on the ground. Morris has rushed for 1,125 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Garcon has caught a team-high 96 balls for 1,146 yards and four scores. Defensively, Washington has struggled against the pass, giving up over 250 yards per game which ranks 21st in the league. This will be the final home game for the Redskins; Washington is 2-5 at home this season.
This is a must win for the Cowboys, while the season could not end soon enough for the Redskins. Washington’s defense has been awful all year and I expect Romo and company to score at least 30 points in this game. Meanwhile, Cousins and Garcon should have a nice day against a weak Dallas secondary. I think the best play for this game is the over as both teams will reach 30 by the end.
