The Houston Texans will try and put this season behind them on Sunday when the Texans head to Tennessee to face off against the Titans.
The Tennessee Titans have had a respectable season, even though the Titans are currently just 6-9 on the year. Tennessee has gotten it done with defense so far this season as the Titans are ranked tenth in the league against the pass, while ranking 20th in the NFL against the run. The Titans have dropped three out of their last four heading into Sunday’s meeting with the Texans, but with the exception of the Broncos game, all games have been close, including a strong showing in Arizona against the Cards two weeks ago.

The Houston Texans have to be counting the minutes until this nightmare of a season is over. Houston found out this season just how important quarterback play in the NFL is. Matt Schaub completely laid an egg this season, playing by far his worst football of his career. Last time out Schaub really struggled against the Broncos, completing just 18/37 for 176 yards and two picks. Looking at the roster of Houston, there is now way the Texans should be just a two win team and the bottom feeders of the league. This likely will be Schaub’s last start in Houston, at least for awhile with the Texans, in all likelihood taking Bridgewater out of Louisville in the first round of the 2014 draft.
The Texans are just 2-8 against the spread in their last ten road games, and the Texans are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games when played on grass. The Texans are also 0-4 against the spread in their last four games against teams with a losing record.
The Tennessee Titans are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games against teams with a losing record. The Titans however are just 3-12-2 in their last 17 games against the AFC south, and the Titans are 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four games overall. The over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between the Titans and the Texans in Tennessee, and the over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams overall.
I have to take the over in this spot. Neither the Texans, nor the Titans have anything to play for at this point in the year, so look for both teams to relax a bit defensively and open things up with the offense.
