TV:

We’re cruising into our first weekend after the NFL Combine, and all eyes are on the upcoming draft and the free agency period--which should be pretty interesting. That said, let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players are making headlines out there. Here’s the latest.

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns: It looks like uber-cornerback (and frequent subject of this space) Joe Haden will be staying in Cleveland for the foreseeable future. According to reports that came out yesterday, a contract extension is “imminent,” meaning we’ll probably be hearing about a brand-new deal very soon.
Haden is going into the last year of his current contract and could warrant a number in the range of $12 million per season. He logged 54 total tackles last year and snatched four interceptions for the Browns.

Eric Decker, WR, Denver Broncos: Well, you can throw another name into the hat of potential destinations for the impending free agent Decker. The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly showing interest in his services, which would provide an instant upgrade to their passing game.
It’s not hard for Colts fans to imagine (and salivate over) the prospect of Decker starting opposite T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne. They’d be one of the most potent WR trios in the league and make a fine set of targets for QB Andrew Luck. Still, they’ll have to outsell the myriad of other teams interested in Decker first.

Jeremy Maclin, WR, Philadelphia Eagles: Now that Riley Cooper has re-signed with the Eagles (he inked a five-year deal), the Eagles have turned their attentions to Maclin, whose camp is reportedly in discussions with Philly right now.
Word is that the Eagles would like to ink Maclin to a one-year “prove-it” deal, but that might not be agreeable to the free-agent-to-be. The details on this one are pretty sketchy right now, so we’ll have to wait and see how things shake out.

LeGarrette Blount, RB, New England Patriots: New England is probably the best fit for Blount right now, and it appears he feels that way too. There’s reportedly some mutual interest on both sides in inking a deal, so we could very well see him back with the team next season.
Blount would be part of an RB trio including Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen, so don’t expect a bank-breaking offer from the Pats. Still, with New England a Super Bowl threat every year, there aren’t too many potential destinations with more luster.
