NFL Updates: Griffin, Early Fantasy Speculation, Off-Season Schedule and More
April 14, 2014
Another weekend has come and gone in the NFL’s off-season, bringing us even closer to the draft, training camp and ultimately the 2014 campaign. We’ve seen some interesting developments happening over the past several days, so let’s check in on a few of the notable news stories out there in our daily wrap-up. Here’s the latest.
Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington Redskins: There’s been a lot of speculation about what kind of Griffin we’ll be seeing in the 2014 season. He’s coming off a major downer last year, marred by injury recovery and poor mechanics that led to an ugly stat-line and ultimately lost season for the ‘Skins.
By the early indications, however, Griffin is coming into the upcoming campaign with a renewed focus, improving his footwork and overall game as he chugs through a healthy off-season.
Expectations are high in DC this year, as Griffin will boast an impressive pair of wide-outs (DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon) alongside what should be a pretty solid running game. We should see a big step forward for the two-year vet.

Brandon Graham, LB, Philadelphia Eagles: Let’s stick in the NFC East and discuss the Eagles’ likelihood of dealing Graham before the draft. According to reports, the team has been exploring trade scenarios for the four-year pro, including one with the Dolphins that would have sent Dion Jordan to Philly.
Graham struggled with injury during his first couple of years in the league, but since has been healthy and showing major improvement. He doesn’t really fit too well with the Eagles’ defensive scheme, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him moved before draft day. Stay tuned.
Fantasy Corner: The 2014 campaign is still pretty far off, but it’s never too early to start thinking about your fantasy team. Looking at the early projections heading into the new season, it’s looking like RB will be a premium pick once again (as expected), so you’ll have to strike quick in order to get a top-tier name. Here’s an early look at our top 10 fantasy names overall, and we’ll be breaking things down on a position-by-position basis as the draft season gets closer.
