TV:

With this new week, we’re seeing some extra activity in the NFL off-season. Some teams have begun workout activities already, with more to come today. That means we’ll be seeing plenty of notable headlines coming through from around the league, so let’s check those out and see what’s happening out there right now.

Terrelle Pryor, QB, Seattle Seahawks: We’ll touch on this first, as it was the hottest topic of yesterday’s headlines. Former Raider QB Terrelle Pryor has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for the 247th pick in the draft this year (seventh round).
Pryor would have been released if he hadn’t been traded yesterday. He’ll likely be in competition for a role as the backup QB behind incumbent Russell Wilson.

St. Louis’ Draft Plans: Ever since last month when Rams GM Les Snead was quoted as saying the team wasn’t going to draft a quarterback this season, the indications have been that the team will do just that.
St. Louis is reportedly considering a visit to the QB position next month--and not just as a roster-filler, either. They’re supposedly looking for someone who could potentially compete for the starting job in the next couple of seasons.
That said, the Rams aren’t expected to draft a QB with the No. 2 overall pick, or maybe even with their second-round selection. They’ll be in play on the higher tier of the arms in this year’s market, though.

Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers: Now let’s head over to the Panthers and check in on Newton, since it’s been a while. Roughly a month off his ankle surgery, he’s still in a walking boot and will be missing the entirety of the team’s off-season workouts.
That’ll put the pressure on Newton to play catch-up when training camp starts this summer and could affect his early chemistry with his new receiving corps. If all goes well, he’ll be back to 100 percent by the time camp rolls around.

Marshawn Lynch, RB, Seattle Seahawks: As the off-season rolls on, an interesting conversation has emerged surrounding Lynch. There are those out there who are speculating he won’t be with the Seahawks after the 2014 year, given the rich (and cheap) state of the running back market.
Here’s what’s working against a Lynch-Seattle reunion: He’s due over $5 million this season and over $7 million the year after that. Given the fact that he’s already passed the proverbial drop-off point for running backs (he’s 28) and the fact that younger, fresher backfield help is cheaper and easier to come by than ever before, no one would be surprised if the team didn’t pick up that final year and declined to sign Beast Mode to an extension. We’ll see how things go, but expect a drop-off in production during 2014 for the Super Bowl champ RB.

Week 1 Preseason Schedule: Now that the preseason schedules have been released, we can start looking forward to the on-field action as we warm up for the 2014 campaign. Here’s a look at the first week of the preseason.
