While the NFL daft is usually stocked with talent, it is no sure thing and we have seen many undrafted free agents make huge impacts aver the years, some becoming the top players in the league. Here is a list of each teams most interesting signings , at least as far as chances of making the roster and contributing and some that we have to wonder why they weren’t drafted.

Arizona Cardinals-Brandon Sermons out of UCLA is a DB who can motor running a sub 4.4 40. Also he was coached by Jim Mora Jr. so can the Cards coach him up even more?

Atlanta Falcons-The Falcons have three players who just jump off of the page at you. Bernard Reedy was a star at Toledo where he was one of the major reasons for the success of the Rocket’s offense. Jacob Pederson contributed plenty at Wisconsin and should make an NFL roster. Tremaine Thompson was a Kansas State where he didn’t get a ton of chances but when he did he made it happen and playing under Bill Snyder we know he is very well coached and can be coached up.

Buffalo Bills-Kenny Ladler was the best player on a Vanderbilt defense that gave SEC teams fits and was a regular bowl team. James Gaines started a ton of games at Miami who produces the most NFL talent but the program is hardly what it once was.

Baltimore Ravens- For me it begins and ends with AJ Pataiali’I out of Utah State who I honestly don’t understand why he wasn’t drafted. 6-3, 311 who can easily support more weight and he can dunk a basketball. This is why the Ravens seem to always be good.

Carolina Panthers –Marcus Lucas comes from Missouri who had an outstanding group of receivers who all performed at a NFL level and Lucas could be a guy who contributes right away.

Cincinnati Bengals-A team that floundered for so long bringing in college talent now thrives as there are a number of players they picked up like Ryan Hewitt who can fill some holes but for me Jeff Scott is a guy who is a game breaker and as a third down guy, look out.

Cleveland Browns-I will go with everyone else here as Isaiah Crowell was seen as the guy when he signed with Georgia and it is his off the field problems which got him into trouble. I am also a big Connor Shaw fan and feel as a backup to Johnny Football he is perfect both with his tough as nails mentality, his winning resume, and his ability to run and get outside of the pocket.

Dallas Cowboys-The Dallas Cowboys weren’t shy when it came to signing free agents so they have a good chance of hitting but I like L’Damian Washington who is another one of those Missouri receiers who came up big in the SEC last season but I also like Ben Malena who was a former high school Mr. Texas player and who played at Texas A&M with Johnny Football.

Denver Broncos-Steven Clark is one of the best punting prospects to hit the NFL in quite some time. While Auburn made the title game this year, they were pretty awful before then and Calrk was their best weapon. I think he is a future Pro Bowl player.

Detroit Lions- I like players who can play more than one position and Alex Bullard from Tennessee can play guard or center and Gabe Lynn from Oklahoma can play a variety of positions in the secondary but he may be a step slow to be a NFL corner.

Green Bay Packers-Rajeon Neal is a proven SEC running back and the way the Pack go through running backs if he can crack the roster he will probably see action. If it isn’t Neal, James Simms from Kansas is another running back who can play football.

Houston Texans-When you draft first it means you need the help and the Texans signed a ton of free agents but the most intriguing was Max Bullough who was the leader of a very tough Michigan State defense but who didn’t play in their bowl game.

Indianapolis Colts-The Colts never seem to have too many wide receivers and Eric Thomas seems like a nice pickup. I guess I am just a sicker for players that score a ton of touchdowns.

Jacksonville Jaguars-LSU seems to be a defensive back factory these days so picking up Craig Loston seems to be a pretty safe bet.

Kansas City Chiefs-Daniel Sorenson out of BYU is they type of player who quietly has a nine or 10 year NFL career. Not sure how some of these guys slip through the cracks.

Miami Dolphins-The Georgia Bulldogs have a pretty solid reputation of landing defensive tackles in the NFL and guys who can contribute and while he may have been overshadowed by his teammates, Garrison Smith is a guy who shows up and can find the guy with the football.

Minnesota Vikings-The Vikings signed a boatload of free agents but in a league of roster size limits, players who can do more than one thing are always valuable so Kain Colter should find a home in the NFL.

New England Patriots-If the Pats can tap in Stephen Houston’s potential he could be a home run but his numbers don’t translate onto the football field. If it isn’t Houston Roy Finch is another in a long line of Oklahoma running backs and Deonte Skinner is a SEC linebacker who started 24 games at Mississippi State.

New Orleans Saints-I like hard nosed players that come from hard nosed programs who play a hard nosed style and Ty Zimmerman, a safety out of Kansas State, fits that bill here.

New York Giants-While Giant fans might hope it is Dan Fox out of ND who makes the impact,, and who knows, he may, my money is on Kelcy Quarles who played in the trenches on one of the toughest defenses in the nation at South Carolina.

New York Jets-Rex Ryan is a defensive guy and Boston College has been churning out quality inside linebackers for years and it looks like the Jets may have gotten a steal in Steele Divitto.

Oakland Raiders-George Atkinson was one of the most feared Raiders defenders of all-time and while I don’t know exactly how much this George Atkinson contributes, it’s only fitting to see his name on the back of a silver and black jersey.

Philadelphia Eagles-Trey Burton is as versatile as they come and Kadron Boone is a LSU receiver and we saw how early the other two went in the draft but the guy I like is David Fluellen, just what the Eagles need, another running back.

Pittsburgh Steelers-Ben Roethlisberger has been taking a beating and he will take whatever help he can get so an All-Conference USA guard who is 6-5, 325 named Will Simmons out of East Carolina fits the bill.

San Diego Chargers-If there was one play from the 2013 college football season that will be remembered forever it was Auburn’s kickoff return against Alabama well the guy who made the play was Chris Davis and he’s also a very good corner and the Chargers picked him up without using a draft pick.

San Francisco 49ers-Call me crazy but I like linebackers who are in on just about every play and make a ton of tackles. Throw in a high motor and showing up for the big games and you have Shayne Skov.

Seattle Seahawks-No Texas players were drafted this year but Jackson Jeffcoat should have been and in a place where he is going to be surrounded by a lot of help and more than likely a place where players are going to leave because of well deserved big contracts, he is in a great spot for all parties involved.

St. Louis Rams-Every year in college football there are a few players who seem like they have been on the team forever and that’s just because they contributed early, that’s the case with Tulsa RB Trey Watts.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-I thought Solomon Patton would have been a star if Florid ahad someone to throw him the ball but he will get his chance here. The Bucs also got Chaz Sutton who comes from that nasty South Carolina defense.

Tennessee Titans-On paper Josh Stewart’s times look slow but he’s a guy who put up solid numbers at pass happy Oklahoma State but he is also one of the best return guys around and teams can never have too many of them.

Washington Redskins-Silas Redd left Penn State when he had the opportunity and everybody wanted him but he landed at USC. Redd was injured a lot of the time he was a Trojan but when he was on the field he was effective. He started at two big time programs.
