The Line: Hamilton Tiger-Cats See the Latest Odds
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Calgary Stampeders square off Friday night at McMahon Stadium.
The Tiger-Cats head into this matchup winless, but should be a lot more confident after going toe-to-toe with the Edmonton Eskimos for three quarters. The Tiger-Cats are a team that really struggles to put points on the board, as quarterback Zach Collaros is completing just 56 percent of his passes and there isn’t a single running back with more than 51 rushing yards. Wide receiver Luke Tasker has been the most consistent playmaker for the Tiger-Cats so far with 91 receiving yards and a touchdown. Offensively, the Tiger-Cats average 271.5 yards and 17 points per game. Defensively, the Tiger-Cats allow 302.5 yards and 29.5 points, but Rico Murray does lead the league with two interceptions.
USA TODAY Sports
The Stampeders have gotten off to a great start on both sides of the ball and are undefeated in their first two games. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been flawless, completing 65.3 percent of his passes for 580 yards and six touchdowns, all while throwing zero interceptions. Wide receiver Anthony Parker is averaging 23.4 yards per catch and already has matched his career high with two touchdown receptions. Overall, the Stampeders average 398 yards per game and score 31.5 points. Defensively, the Stampeders are allowing just 329.5 yards and 11.5 points, proving this is one of the more balanced teams in the league.
The Tiger-Cats are 4-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Stampeders are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.
With the way Calgary has been playing on both sides of the ball, I'm not sure Hamilton has what it takes to keep this game close. The Stampeders are absolutely rolling so far this season and that should continue at home.
