The New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts play a Saturday preseason game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Giants are now 2-0 in the preseason as they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 20-16. Eli Manning played very little in that game as well, throwing just two passes, both of which fell for incompletions. The Giants focused on their running game more than ever, pounding the ball 31 times for an impressive 171 yards and a touchdown. The Giants are trying to get back to their old school style of play and have to be pleased with the way they ran the football in their most recent game. Overall, the Giants finished the game with 312 yards and were able to win on a Curtis Painter touchdown pass in the final minutes. Defensively, the Giants allowed 251 yards and came away with two sacks.
The Colts lost their preseason game to the New York Jets, 13-10. Andrew Luck threw just five passes for 53 yards, as Matt Hasselbeck led the way with 15 pass attempts for 114 yards and a touchdown. With it being just the second preseason game for the Colts, expect a similar workload from both signal-callers. The Colts brought out a balanced game plan that threw the ball 27 times and ran the ball 26 times. Overall, the Colts managed 222 yards and was held scoreless in the second half. Not exactly great numbers, but the Colts are trying their best to develop some type of running game heading into the season. Defensively, the Colts allowed 235 yards and sacked the quarterback twice.
I’m not exactly thrilled from what I saw from the Colts, as their backup offense got nothing going. Meanwhile, the Giants have won their first two preseason games and are playing well on both sides of the ball.
Not sure how you turn down the points the Giants are getting here.
