The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to 1-1 in preseason action after losing to the Chicago Bears, 20-19. The Jags started the game off hot by scoring the first 13 points but ended up allowing a last minute touchdown to lose the game and cover the spread. Denard Robinson led the Jaguars with 34 rushing yards, while Marqise Lee hauled in the team’s only receiving touchdown. The Detroit Lions are also 1-1 in the preseason after falling to the Oakland Raiders, 27-26. The Lions also had a 13-0 lead at the end of the first quarter but allowed the Raiders to come storming back. The good news for the Detroit Lions is that Matthew Stafford looks to be in regular season form after completing nine of 10 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Kris Durham and Golden Tate were on the receiving end of Detroit’s two passing touchdowns. While the Lions managed just two yards per carry, Mikel Leshoure had a decent day with 23 rushing yards on seven touches. The Detroit Lions finished the game with 331 yards and were 2-4 in the red zone. Defensively, the Detroit Lions allowed 404 yards and 17 second half points. James Ihedigbo led the Lions with five tackles and Xavier Proctor had the team’s only sack.
Jacksonville has a lot of young talent that has really helped them in the preseason due to everybody wanting to make an impression on the coaching staff. The Jags are a hungry team that's eager to prove the critics wrong. I've picked the Jags the first two games and have covered both. No reason to stop now.
