The New England Patriots look to rebound when they visit the Minnesota Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium.

The New England Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins, 33-20, which marked their first opening week loss since 2003. After scoring 20 first half points, the Patriots were held to zero points and under 100 yards in the second half. Tom Brady finished the game with 249 passing yards and one touchdown, while Shane Vereen led the team with just 36 rushing yards. Brady was sacked four times and fumbled the ball twice, as the Pats just couldn’t get anything going in the final 30 minutes of play, as they also finished 5-17 on third down attempts. Defensively, the New England Patriots allowed 360 yards and 23 unanswered points. Jerod Mayo leads the Patriots with 12 tackles and was the only player to sack the quarterback, while Jamie Collins chipped in eight tackles.

USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings beat up the St. Louis Rams, 34-6, in their opening game. Matt Cassel did a good job of managing the game by throwing for 170 yards and two touchdowns, while Adrian Peterson had 75 rushing yards on 21 carries. The real offensive star for the Vikings was Cordarrelle Patterson, who had 26 receiving yards and 102 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Vikings displayed a creative offense that displayed 346 yards and gave them a 20-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Although you can expect to see Peterson a lot more in this matchup. Defensively, the Minnesota Vikings allowed 318 yards and held the Rams to 4-14 on third down. Robert Blanton led the way with seven solo tackles and Everson Griffen had two sacks.

When was the last time you saw Brady and the Patriots lose back-to-back games? It doesn’t happen very often. New England should make the proper adjustments and come out firing in this game.

I like New England to cover the small number, and I’d grab it before it gets any higher.
