The Giants look for their first win of the season on Sunday when they host the surprising Houston Texans who are undefeated through the first two weeks.
The Houston Texans finished with an abysmal 2-14 record last season which was lowlighted by losing their last 14 overall in what was certainly an unforeseen downfall for a team that had Super Bowl aspirations. Houston was able to grab cornerstone defensive end Jadeveon CLowney as a result of their futility but he has since gone down with an injury and it is unclear when he will make his return to the team but nonetheless they find themselves sitting atop the AFC South. Arian Foster is enjoying a rebirth of sorts as the former rushing league rushing leader is among the top ranks once again and if he can avoid injury he will certainly continue to be the workhorse in the Texans backfield as Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t exactly going to win you too many games. The Texans are not nearly as bad as they were a year ago and they face a very soft schedule as they defeated the Washington’s in their season opener, the Raiders last week, and now catch a Giants team in complete disarray who are destined for a top five draft pick.

The New York Football Giants are a proud franchise that has come to the forefront of the NFL over the last five seasons thanks to their Super Bowl success but I think it is safe to say that this isn’t going to be one of those seasons. The G-Men have been awful through two weeks and that stems from the play of Eli Manning behind centre though it doesn’t help that the chemistry with his wideouts has been non-existent, the offensive line is useless, and the defense can’t seem to stop anybody. The lone bright spot has been Rashad Jennings in the back field but since the Giants are always playing catch up they haven’t been able to properly utilize him and as such they are 0-2 and don’t appear to be getting any better. However, Tom Coughlin has been on the hot seat it seems since he landed in New York and yet he continues to be one of the longest tenured coaches in the NFL so I wouldn’t be surprised if he can rally the troops once again and make this season somewhat salvageable. This is a game I am not a fan of as I think the Texans should have their way with New York especially on the ground and with the way JJ Watt has been playing I think Eli is in for another rough afternoon but on the other side if the Giants can’t get up for this one than why bother showing up? All things considered I think I have to side with the road favourites as they’re better on the ground and that pass rush causes nightmares which is exactly what I predict Eli having after another tough afternoon.
