The Chiefs look for their first victory of the season as they head into Miami to take on a Dolphins team who was embarrassed on the road in Buffalo last weekend.
The Kansas City Chiefs have stumbled out to an 0-2 start just a year removed from hosting a playoff game and now head into Miami to take on a Dolphins team coming off a frustrating loss and is returning home. The Chiefs were dealt a serious blow last weekend in Denver as star running back Jamaal Charles went down with a high ankle sprain and may not be back for weeks and while Knile Davis is more than capable to fill the void I think teams will be able to key in on Alex Smith even more so now that they don’t have Charles to contend with in the back field. The Chiefs played a much better game last weekend against the Broncos than they did in their season opener against the Titans but you have to wonder how much of that was circumstance as you’d always expect a team to rise to the occasion against their division rivals. KC will look to avoid going 0-3 but they face a tough task as the Dolphins are two weeks removed from beating the Patriots in their home opener and while they’re without Knowshon Moreno they still have a pretty balanced attack led by Lamar Miller and Ryan Tannehill.

The Dolphins were a product of circumstance as well last weekend but for all the wrong reasons as it was just Buffalo’s day to be had and there was no possible way that the Bills were going to lose their home opener. In what was a very special week in Western New York the Bills learned their franchise’s future is stable and in good hands thanks to the Pegula family, and they celebrated the news that former pivot Jim Kelly was clear of all cancer after what was a very courageous and emotional fight. With all things considered and a Bills win on the road against Chicago to start the season it came as no surprise that Buffalo came out fired up and as such they laid a beating down on the visiting Dolphins who managed just 10 points. Miami though will get their shot at redemption at home against a Chiefs team who looks to be a shadow of their former selves and to me are a team that greatly disappoints this season and that was with a healthy Jamaal Charles. I like the Dolphins to rebound at home and send the Chiefs to their third straight defeat.
