The Line: New Orleans Saints -9.5 -- Over/Under: 51 See the Latest Odds

The Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints play a week 3 matchup Sunday afternoon at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The Minnesota Vikings were crushed last week by the New England Patriots and hope to have Adrian Peterson back on the field for this matchup. The Vikings are a struggling offensive team right now, ranked dead last in passing yards, as quarterback Matt Cassel is completing just 59 percent of his passes and has four interceptions to three touchdown passes. Cassel has also been sacked six times, and it’s never a good thing when wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is your leading rusher after two games. Even with Peterson back on the field, the Vikings have to find success through the air if this is going to be a successful season. Defensively, the Minnesota Vikings are allowing 305 yards and have forced two turnovers and six sacks. Jasper Brinkley leads the Vikings with 16 tackles and Tom Johnson has a sack in each of the first two games.

New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings - 9/21/14 NFL Pick and Odds

This is a must win for the New Orleans Saints after starting the season 0-2, which includes a loss to the Cleveland Browns last week. The Saints offense is clicking as usual, as Drew Brees is completing 68.3 percent of his passes and the running game is averaging an impressive 5.7 yards per carry. The Saints scored a combined 61 points in their first two games and those are numbers that shouldn’t change much with this game taking place in the dome. However, the New Orleans Saints defense is letting them down, as they rank dead last in the NFL with an average of 323.5 passing yards allowed. Rob Ryan and the Saints defense is getting gashed through the air and ranks 22nd in the league in rushing yards allowed. David Hawthorne leads the Saints with 17 tackles, while Cameron Jordan has three tackles and three pass deflections.

Although the Saints defense has been dreadful, we all know New Orleans is a completely different team inside the dome. I expect the Saints to light it up and get a comfortable win like they usually do at home. Get the line under 10 while you still can, because it’s only going to increase.
