The Line: Chicago Bears -1 -- Over/Under: 49.5 See the Latest Odds

TV: FOX

The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers face off on Sunday at Soldier Field in a NFC North NFL rivalry game.

The Chicago Bears dropped their opener at home in week one but they have gone on to win their next two games, both on the road. The Bears offense is averaging 25 points per game ranking 10th in the NFL but they are dead last in rushing the football. QB Jay Cutler has completed 66.1 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and two interceptions while being sacked seven times but the main thing is he has remained healthy. Matt Forte has all but two carries for the Bears this season but he is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry though he has 19 receptions. Chicago has a number of receiving targets with Martellus Bennett having 20 receptions and four touchdowns, Alshon Jeffery has 16 caches, and Brandon Marshall has played through injuries wit 14 catches and four touchdowns. The Bears defense is 11thin scoring allowing 20.7 points per game but it has really ben “Bears Football” creating turnovers and opportunities. Kyle Fuller has been the surprise for the Chicago defense with 19 tackles and three interceptions, Jon Bostic has 20 tackles, and Willie Young has four sacks. They haven’t looked like a traditional Chicago Bears football team but their 2-1 record is good enough for a tie for first place in the NFC North.

The Green Bay Packers are off to a 1-2 start as their normally high flying offense just hasn’t been producing points and their normally opportunistic defense isn’t creating enough breaks. The Packers offense is averaging just 18 points per game which ranks 27th in the NFL and they are gaining 289.3 yards per game ranking 28th in the NFL. QB Aaron Rodgers has completed 62.7 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and an interception but he has been sacked nine times which means he is often holding onto the ball too long and he isn’t getting the protection he needs to be most effective. The Green bay rushing attack hasn’t helped Rodgers with Eddie Lacy averaging 3.1 yards per carry and James Starks gaining just 75 yards thus far. Jordy Nelson has been Rodgers’ top receiving target with 23 receptions while Randall Cobb has 14 catches and three touchdowns. The Green Bay defense ranks sixth against the pass but they are 30th against the run and 28th in points allowed per game. A.J. Hawk has 25 tackles, Morgan Burnett has 23 tackles, and Clay Mathews has 12 tackles including one sack. The Packers just don’t seem cohesive right now and their offense was as ineffective as I have seen from them in many years in last weeks’ loss in Detroit.

Chicago is 8-20 against the spread against the NFC, 3-9 against the spread following a win, and 1-8 against the spread against the NFC North. Green Bay is 18-7-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 3-8 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-4 against the spread against the NFC North. Green Bay has covered the point spread in six of their last seven meetings with Chicago.

Normally with a team coming off of a road Monday Night game I would immediately look the other way but I can’t do that here as the Packers just haven’t looked good and back to back road games against NFC North opponents doesn’t make for a recipe for success.
