TV: CBS

The Jacksonville Jaguars still search for their first win as they travel to Qualcomm Stadium to take on the San Diego Chargers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have proven to be brutal on both sides of the ball, but it’s their defense that’s giving them no chance at all to win games. The Jags rank dead last against both the run and the pass, allowing a total of 466 yards per game. The Jaguars have allowed a combined 85 points in their last two games and have forced three turnovers and 10 sacks. Paul Posluszny leads the Jaguars with 30 tackles and Sen'Derrick Marks has 13 tackles and two sacks. Offensively, Jacksonville is likely going to turn to rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, who threw 14 passes in the recent loss to the Indianapolis Colts. About the only bright spot for the Jaguars offensively is their young talent at wide receiver including Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson, a duo that has produced six plays of 20 or more yards.

The San Diego Chargers have seemed to have found their groove after two straight wins and have their eyes on a possible AFC West crown. Quarterback Philip Rivers refuses to age, as he’s completing 68.4 percent of his passes for 778 yards and six touchdowns. Rivers has completed 72 percent or better in his last two games and has five touchdowns and zero interceptions. That’s a great sign for Chargers fans, especially considering their ground game is averaging just 2.4 yards per carry. The Chargers have four receivers who have topped more than 100 yards and Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd have produced a combined six plays of 20 or more yards. Defensively, the San Diego Chargers are allowing 327.7 yards per game and have forced three turnovers and seven sacks. Manti Te'o leads the Chargers with 19 tackles and Corey Liuget has two sacks.

Laying double digits in an NFL game is always risky business, however, if you’re going to do it make sure it’s against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Nobody in their right mind can give me a solid reason to back Jacksonville here, as its easily the worst team in the league right now. So, while I don’t love the spread, it certainly beats the alternative.
