TV: NFL, CBS

The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers will play Thursday night at Lambeau Field.

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a monster upset over the Atlanta Falcons and can only hope that momentum can carry over to this matchup. However, it’s going to be interesting to see who starts this game for the Vikings, as Teddy Bridgewater is questionable with an ankle injury, meaning that Christian Ponder may see his first start of the season. It’s been a while since Ponder has seen any significant playing time and the Vikings already have a shorthanded passing game as it is, currently ranked 24th in the league in passing yards. Rookie Jerick McKinnon is coming off a 135-yard performance and Matt Asiata scored three touchdowns, which were both positive signs for the Vikings ground game, as this team needs something positive offensively to happen in order to turn things around. Defensively, the Minnesota Vikings are allowing 354.3 yards per game and have forced four turnovers and eight sacks. Robert Blanton leads the Vikings with 31 tackles and Harrison Smith has two interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers picked up a much needed win on the road against the Chicago Bears and have to feel good about themselves here. Aaron Rodgers looked like himself for the first time this season, completing 78.6 percent of his passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns. The Packers have won 14 of their last 17 regular season games SU when Rodgers has thrown two or more touchdowns. Of Rodgers nine touchdown passes, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have combined for eight of them and close to 700 yards. The Packers running game, however, remains a big concern as they’re averaging just 3.5 yards per carry and Eddie Lacy has yet to even top 50 yards in a single game this season. Defensively, the Green Bay Packers are allowing 390 yards per game and have forced seven turnovers and six sacks. A.J. Hawk leads the Packers with 38 tackles and Tramon Williams has four pass deflections.

The Vikings are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NFC and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Packers are 35-16 ATS in their last 51 vs. NFC North and 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Green Bay, while the home team is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.

If the Packers have really turned the corner and are going to start playing the way they're caable of, the Vikings stand no chance. While I am worried about teams coming out sluggish given the fact it is short rest, the Pack should win this game by double digits. Give me Green Bay and the chalk, as the Vikings QB situation isn't a pretty one.
