NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Schedule and More

TV:

It’s Saturday, and that means we’ve got just one more day to wait before the bulk of the Week 5 NFL games get going. In the meantime, there’s plenty of news to keep track of, so with that said let’s take our daily look around the league and see who’s in the headlines.

There’s been quite a soap opera happening in New England. This week, speculation has been swirling that Pats WR Aaron Dobson was benched after a verbal argument with OC Josh McDaniels, which has seen him inactive for the past two games. There have been reports that the team is questioning Dobson’s maturity.
Of course, coach Bill Belichick has denied any rumor that Dobson was benched for anything other than football reasons, but the theory does make sense. The Pats desperately need WR weapons on the field, and keeping one inactive doesn’t seem the smartest way to accomplish that.

NFL News: Player News and Updates for 10/4/14

USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons ruled out both WR Harry Douglas and guard Justin Blalock for tomorrow’s game against the Giants.
It’s an unfortunate verdict for Blalock, who has been on the field for 102 consecutive games.

Injury-wise, the Titans look pretty good for their game against the Browns this week. Both Delanie Walker and Jake Locker are probable, while the only players below that designation are Taylor Thompson (doubtful) and Bildi Wreh-Wilson (questionable).

Similarly in good health this week are the Colts. The only players below probable are Arthur Jones and Jack Mewhort, who are both out due to ankle issues.

There’s really no surprise here, but the Jaguars ruled out both Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Dwayne Gratz (concussion) for tomorrow’s matchup against Pittsburgh.

Let’s get back to that Titans-Browns game and check out Cleveland. They look pretty healthy as well, with Ben Tate, Jordan Cameron and Barkevious Mingo each being designated as probable. Only DE Desmond Bryant is lower than probable; He’s considered questionable with a glute injury.
