The Line: San Diego Chargers -6 -- Over/Under: 43.5 See the Latest Odds

The New York Jets and San Diego Chargers will meet Sunday afternoon at Qualcomm Stadium.

The New York Jets have lost three straight games and the fans are already calling for Geno Smith’s job. Smith is completing 60.3 percent of his passes and has five interceptions to four touchdowns, as he’s thrown at least one interception in nine of his last 11 games dating back to last season. The quarterback position seems to be the Jets only real weakness right now, as the ground game is averaging a healthy 4.9 yards per carry behind Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson, while Eric Decker has scored in two of his last three games. I was a big believer in Michael Vick getting nod over Geno Smith before the season even started, and it seems like we’re not that far away before it actually becomes a reality with the way the second-year QB has played in the first month. Defensively, the New York Jets are allowing 291.3 yards per game and have forced two turnovers and 14 sacks. Demario Davis leads the Jets with 32 tackles and Muhammad Wilkerson has three sacks.

The San Diego Chargers have won three straight and can continue to take advantage of a weak schedule the next couple of weeks. Philip Rivers is off to one of his best starts of his career, completing 70.1 percent of his passes for 1,155 yards, nine touchdowns and just one interception. The Chargers have won seven straight regular season games when Rivers has thrown two or more touchdowns. However, Rivers has to keep playing out of his mind if the Chargers are going to keep winning, as the team has no running game with Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead both out, and Donald Brown averaging just two yards per carry. The Chargers have just one rushing touchdown and one running play that has gone for more than 20 yards. Defensively, the San Diego Chargers are allowing 325.5 yards per game and have forced six turnovers and 10 sacks. Donald Butler leads the Chargers with 24 tackles and Corey Liuget has 1.5 sacks.

The Jets are 1-3-2 ATS in their last 6 road games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Chargers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Jets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in San Diego, while the underdog is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

Question: Do you trust Geno Smith and the Jets offense on the road? The Jets are getting worse and worse on the offensive side of the ball and you can slowly see things starting to come apart for Rex Ryan and his boys. Meanwhile, the Chargers have been playing great football and are on a mission to give the Broncos a run for their money. Asking the Chargers to win by a touchdown is a steal.
