QB Russell Wilson continues to frustrate defenses converting third downs of al distances rushing for 87 yards and completing 69 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and one interception. Marshawn Lynch continues to be a force in the Seahawks backfield averaging 4.5 yards per carry and finding the endzone three times and he also has eight receptions with two of those going for touchdowns. Percy Harvin has been the playmaker thus far at receiver with 15 catches and Doug Baldwin has 10. The Washington Redskins are 1-3 for the season and are coming off of a blowout loss last Thursday at the hands of the Giants. The Redskins offense is fourth in the NFL in yards per game at 415.2 and they are averaging 23.8 points per game. Kirk Cousins has taken over at QB for the Skins for the injured RG 3 and he has completed 62.3 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and five interceptions. Alfred Morris is averaging 4.5 yards per carry and he has three touchdowns but we have seen Roy Helu in key spots who is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and he has 10 catches. Pierre Garcon is Washington’s leading receiver with 24 receptions, Niles Paul has 21 catches, and DeSean Jackson has 15 catches with each of them having a touchdown. The Redskins defense is ninth in the NFL in yards allowed with 324.2 but 26th in points allowed at 27.2 per game. Keenan Robinson has 30 tackles and an interception, Ryan Clark has 26 tackles, and Ryan Kerrigan has 5.0 sacks. The Redskins are minus five in turnover ratio and that has a lot to do with their losing record.
Seattle is 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight Monday Night games, 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, and 37-16-1 against the spread in their last 54 games. Washington is 4-11 against the spread against the NFC, 3-1-1 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, and 2-6 against the spread in their last eight Monday Night games. The favorite is 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six meetings of these two.
The total is set a 45.5 which at first glance looks high but these teams allow a combines 49.2 points per game and score a combined 51.5 points per game so my free pick is on the over. My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
