The San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders meet Sunday at the O.co Coliseum.
The San Diego Chargers have won four straight games and are playing some of the best football of any team in the league. Defensively, the Chargers are allowing 12.6 points, 290.8 yards, and they’ve forced eight turnovers and 12 sacks. The Chargers have won seven of their last eight games when allowing 21 or less points. Donald Butler leads the Chargers with 27 tackles and Eric Weddle has five pass deflections. Offensively, Philip Rivers is completing a ridiculous 70.3 percent of his passes for 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. The Chargers have won eight straight games when Rivers throws for two or more touchdowns. Eddie Royal and Antonio Gates have combined for nine touchdowns and more than 500 receiving yards, as the Chargers have 21 passing plays of 20 or more yards. The San Diego Chargers are averaging less than three yards per rush and have just two rushing touchdowns. Donald Brown is questionable for this game with a concussion.

The Oakland Raiders haven’t won a game in forever but are coming off a bye and should be fresh for this contest. Offensively the Raiders could use some help, as they’re averaging just 3.4 yards per carry and Darren McFadden is the only player with more than 66 rushing yards. The Raiders have just one rushing touchdown and one running play of 20 or more yards. Derek Carr is completing 63.2 percent of his passes for four touchdowns and four interceptions, and he’s been upgraded to probable for this matchup with a knee injury. James Jones has been the Raiders biggest offensive playmakers, as he has 21 receptions for 272 yards and two touchdowns. Other than Jones, the Raiders are getting no help on the offensive side of the ball and have been held to 14 or less points in six straight games. Defensively, the Oakland Raiders are allowing 25.8 points, 365.3 yards, and they’ve forced five turnovers and four sacks. Tyvon Branch leads the Raiders with 30 tackles and Charles Woodson has four pass deflections.
The Chargers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Raiders are 26-53-1 ATS in their last 80 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Chargers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings in Oakland, while the underdog is 9-1 ATS in their last 10 meetings.
The Oakland Raiders are the worst team in the NFL, while the Chargers are looking like a team that could compete for a Super Bowl if they keep playing this way. It is a rivalry game and is in Oakland, so that does scare me, however, if both teams play the way they have all year, the Chargers should have no trouble winning this matchup by double digits.
