NFL Updates: News From Around the League
Week 7 has officially begun in the NFL, and we’ve got just a couple more days to wait before the big load of games occurs on Sunday. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at some of today’s headlines to see what our favorite players are up to right now.
TNF Wrap-Up: Well, this one was a lot closer than anyone expected, and more competitive than any other Thursday game so far. The Jets put forth a solid effort, keeping pace with the Patriots on the strength of Nick Foles’ four field goals. Even though New York dominated the time of possession battle (40:54 to 19:06) and posted a whopping 218 yards on the ground, they still fell 27-25 to their archrivals.
On the other side, Tom Brady threw for three touchdowns (two to Shane Vereen).
The Jets had a chance to win as time expired, trying a 58-yard field goal. It was blocked.

Cowboys fans will be glad to know that uber-RB DeMarco Murray was back at practice yesterday after missing out on Wednesday’s session due to an illness.
The signs are all pointing toward Murray having yet another good game this week; he’ll be facing a Giants defense that’s giving up over 116 yards on the ground each week.
In a related story, QB Tony Romo was back at practice yesterday as well. He missed Wednesday due to his ankle and back issues.
Let’s stick in the NFC East and check out another running game that’s turned some heads--but for bad reasons. The Redskins’ Alfred Morris has posted only 70 yards on 26 carries over his last two weeks. The good news, however, is that things are looking up for him as well.
Morris and company will be facing the Titans, who have been pretty permissive to opposing running backs. You can count on a rebound from Morris and the Redskins running game this week.
The Bengals’ A.J. Green was out of practice yet again yesterday, which doesn’t bode well for his chances of playing in Week 7 against the Colts.
Green sat out in Week 6 due to a toe injury and is in danger of missing out Sunday’s game as well.
