Minnesota Vikings (2-4) at Buffalo Bills (3-3)

The Line: Buffalo Bills -3.5 -- Over/Under: 42.5 See the Latest Odds
The Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings face off on Sunday in Orchard Park in a NFL matchup.
The Buffalo Bills have been tough to figure out this season but they hit week seven at 3-3 and in second place in the AFC East. The Bills are averaging 19.7 points and 327 yards per game which ranks them near the bottom in the NFL. Kyle Orton has taken over at QB for E.J. Manuel and he has been he same QB we have seen over the years, hardly a long term answer. C.J. Spiller is the Bills leading rusher but he is averaging just 3.4 yards per carry and Fred Jackson is averaging 4.4 yards. Jackson leads Buffalo in receiving with 20 receptions and Sammy Watkins has 26 receptions and Robert Woods has 21. The Bills defense has been solid allowing just 21 points per game and 336.7 yards with a plus three turnover margin. Preston Brown is the Bills leading tackler with 45, Leodis McKelvin has 32 tackles and two interceptions, and Mario Williams has 4.5 sacks, Marcell Darius has 5.0 sacks and Jerry Hughes has 4.0 sacks. Buffalo has some of the best players in football at their positions on their roster but overall they can’t seem to put it together consistently.
USA TODAY Sports
The Minnesota Vikings are 2-4 for the season and are coming off back-to-back one sided losses. The Vikings offense is struggling averaging just 17.3 points and 314.7 yards both ranking near the bottom in the NFL. Teddy Bridgewater has taken over at QB completing 62.1 percent of his passes with three interceptions and no touchdowns. Matt Asiata is the Vikings leading rusher and Jerick McKinnon provides a spark but Minnesota is clearly missing Adrian Peterson. Greg Jennings is the Vikes leading receiver followed by Jarius Wright and Cordarrelle Patterson but the passing game has suffered. The Vikings defense allows a NFL 8th best 332 yards per game and 23.8 points but they are minus five in turnover ratio. Robert Blanton has 47 tackles, Everson Griffen has 4.0 sacks, and Harrison Smith has three interceptions. The Vikings look to be lost at times.
Buffalo is 10-4 against the spread following a loss, 0-8 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, and 5-1 against the spread in week 7. Minnesota is 6-2 against the spread following a loss, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 4-9 against the spread after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.
I don’t love the Bills offense but I do like the matchup of their defense against the Vikings offense so I will lay the points with Buffalo.
