NFL Football: Sunday
The Line: Chicago Bears -3 -- Over/Under: 49 See the Latest Odds
The Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins face off on Sunday at Soldier Field for a NFL football matchup.
The Chicago Bears are 3-3 this season but all three of their wins are on the road. The Bears offense seems to be almost unstoppable when they give Jay Cutler time to throw and he has completed 68.1 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. Matt Forte is averaging just 4.0 yards per carry with two touchdowns but he leads the Bears with 46 receptions. Martellus Bennett has 36 receptions and four touchdowns, Alshon Jeffery has 31 catches and two touchdowns, and Brandon Marshall has 25 catches and five touchdowns as the Chicago passing attack is deep and talented. The Bears defense has struggled at times allowing 24 points and 349.8 yards and they have a plus two turnover ratio. Kyle Fuller leads the Bears with 30 tackles and Willie Young has 7.0 sacks but Jon Bostic, Shea McClellin, and Lance Briggs are all questionable for this one. The Bears defense is banged up and we will need to watch the injury status as the week goes forward.
USA TODAY Sports
The Miami Dolphins are 2-3 this season after they took a loss last week in the final seconds of the game after it appeared they had the game won. The Dolphins need to put last week behind them as the offense is averaging 24 points and 353.2 yards per game with Ryan Tannehill completing 60.8 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. Lamar Miller is the full time running back after Knowshown Moreno is gone for the year and he is averaging 5.2 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Miami’s top receiver is Mike Wallace with 25 receptions and four touchdowns and Jarvis Landry, Charles Clay, and Brian Hartline all are a big part of the passing game. The Dolphins defense is allowing 24.8 points per game and a seventh best in the NFL 331.6 yards but they are minus three in turnover ratio. Jelani Jenkins has 44 tackles, Jason Trusnik has 28 tackles, and Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon each have 3.5 sacks. Miami seems to always be a play or two short of turning the corner and becoming a winner.
Chicago is 5-15-1 against the spread in their last 21 home games, 1-6 against the spread at home against a team with a losing rad record, and 2-8 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. Miami is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, 1-4 against the spread in October, and 18-8 against the spread after allowing over 350 yards in their previous game.
The total is set at 48 but this one gets into the 50’s at least and I like the over with my free pick. My stronger play is on who will cover the point spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
