Cincinnati Bengals (3-1-1) at Indianapolis Colts (4-2)

TV: CBS

The Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts clash Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium.

It’s been a tough two weeks for the Cincinnati Bengals after getting destroyed by the Patriots and settling for a tie against the Panthers. Andy Dalton is completing 68.2 percent of his passes for six touchdowns and three interceptions. More pressure has been put on Dalton’s shoulders with the loss of A.J. Green, who is again doubtful for this matchup with a toe injury. Marvin Lewis said earlier this week that there’s a shot Green can play in this game. One player who has stepped up in his absence is running back Giovani Bernard, who is coming off his first 100-yard performance of the season. Mohamed Sanu has caught a touchdown pass in three of his last four games and now leads the Bengals with 354 receiving yards. The Bengals have produced 18 passing plays of 20 or more yards but their offense simply isn’t the same without Green on the field. Defensively, the Cincinnati Bengals are allowing 22.6 points, 398.8 yards, and they’ve forced eight turnovers and eight sacks. Emmanuel Lamur leads the Bengals with 37 tackles and Terence Newman has six pass deflections.

The Indianapolis Colts have won four straight and hope to start running away with the AFC South. Andrew Luck continues to play MVP-type football, as he’s completing 66.2 percent of his passes for 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Luck has thrown three or more touchdown passes in four of the six games, and the Colts have 26 passing plays of 20 or more yards. Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton have combined for more than 1,000 receiving yards, 74 receptions and two touchdowns. The Colts ground game is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry but Trent Richardson has found the end zone in two of his last three games. Defensively, the Indianapolis Colts are allowing 22.7 points, 340.5 yards, and they’ve forced 12 turnovers and 17 sacks. D'Qwell Jackson leads the Colts with 45 tackles and Vontae Davis has two interceptions.

The Bengals are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 road games and 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The Colts are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 home games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

The Indianapolis Colts are looking more and more like a legit Super Bowl contender, while the Bengals are starting to fall off a bit and aren't nearly as good without their star receiver. With or without Green in the lineup, I like the Colts to win this game and cover the small number.
