Oakland Raiders vs. Arizona Cardinals - 10/19/14 NFL Pick, Odds, Prediction

Arizona Cardinals (4-1) at Oakland Raiders (0-5)

NFL Football: Sunday

The Line: Oakland Raiders +3.5 -- Over/Under: 44 See the Latest Odds

The Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders will play Sunday afternoon at the O.co Coliseum.

The Arizona Cardinals take to the road for the third time this season and hope to improve to 5-1. Carson Palmer returned to action last week and completed 63.6 percent of his passes, as he now has four touchdowns and zero interceptions on the season. The Cardinals are 6-4 SU when Palmer throws at least two touchdowns. The Cardinals have produced 17 passing plays of 20 or more yards and have five different players with double-digit receptions. Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald have combined for more than 500 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Cards still lack a true running game, as they’re averaging just 3.5 yards per carry and Andre Ellington is the only active Arizona runner with more than 50 rushing yards. Palmer has no choice but to throw the ball 35-plus times. Defensively, the Arizona Cardinals are allowing 21.2 points, 348.4 yards, and they’ve forced 11 turnovers and six sacks. Jerraud Powers has three interceptions and Antonio Cromartie has six pass deflections.

The Oakland Raiders nearly upset the San Diego Chargers but still have not won a regular season game since Nov. 17 of last season. The Raiders are just a mess from top to bottom starting with a defense that’s allowing 26.8 points, 376.8 yards, and has forced five turnovers and five sacks. The Raiders have allowed 30 or more points in seven of their last 10 games. Miles Burris leads the Raiders with 34 tackles and rookie Khalil Mack has four tackles for loss. Offensively, Derek Carr is completing 61.1 percent of his passes on the season and has five touchdown passes and two picks in his last two games. James Jones and Andre Holmes have been Oakland’s only real playmakers, as they’ve combined for close to 600 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Darren McFadden leads the Raiders with 231 rushing yards and has Oakland's only rushing touchdown.

The Cardinals are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Cardinals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings.

I think the value is with the Raiders as long as you're getting the hook at the end of the three points. The Raiders always put up a fight for their home crowd and came very close to beating a solid Chargers team last week. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have let some teams hang around this season and could be in for a fight if they do the same this weekend.
