Week 8 has begun in the NFL, now that the Chargers and Broncos are all finished up. We’ve got a couple more days to wait before the main matchups of the week, so let’s fill some time by taking a look at today’s headlines and seeing who’s in the news this morning.

TNF Wrap-Up: It was another impressive offensive display from the Broncos, who are looking like they won’t be denied when it comes to plowing through the AFC this year. Peyton Manning was once again great in the 35-21 victory, posting 286 yards and three touchdowns, while Emmanuel Sanders caught nine balls for 120 yards and three touchdowns.
Interestingly enough, Manning toppled another Brett Favre record last night, posting 16 seasons with 20 or more touchdown passes (Favre had 15). Also, two more multiple-touchdown games and Manning will tie Favre’s mark of 157.

NFL News: Player News and Updates for 10/24/14

The Packers’ James Starks was able to practice yesterday, which is a good sign following his ankle injury suffered in Week 7. He sat out of Wednesday’s session.
Starks and his Green Bay teammates will face the Saints in Sunday’s game.

On the other side of the injury spectrum, Bengals star WR A.J. Green wasn’t able to practice yesterday, at least during the portion available to the media. He’s been fighting off a toe injury that has kept him out of action since early this month.
There’s reason to be optimistic about Green’s chances this week, if you’re one to believe in rumors. Green reportedly was overheard telling a teammate he’s planning on playing this weekend against the Ravens. What he does (or doesn’t do) in practice today will go a long way in determining his availability for that one.

More injury intrigue shaping up in the AFC: the Colts’ Reggie Wayne was absent from practice once again yesterday. He’s fighting off an elbow injury.
Wayne hasn’t been able to practice yet this week, however an MRI revealed no major damage in his elbow. The Colts play Pittsburgh this week.

On to some good news: Houston LB Jadeveon Clowney said yesterday he’s planning on returning to the field in Week 8 against Tennessee. He’s been out for the last six games thanks to his knee surgery.
With Clowney on his way back, and a rookie QB starting for the Titans this week (Zach Mettenberger), Texans fans are expecting big things from the pass rush on Sunday.

Week 8 NFL Schedule: It’s time to start looking forward to Week 8 in the NFL. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks you can catch the games on.
