New England Patriots vs. Chicago Bears 10/26/14 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears have lost two of their last three games and appear to be a team in turmoil. The Bears offense is averaging 22.4 points and 349.3 yards per game that ranks them in the lower 50 percent of all teams in the NFL. QB Jay Cutler has completed 67.3 percent of their passes with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions while being sacked 17 times. Matt Forte leads the Bears in rushing with 448 yards and three touchdowns and he also is the leading receiver with 52 catches followed by Martellus Bennett who has 41 catches. The Bears defense allows 24.4 points and 356 yards and they are minus one in turnover ratio. Ryan Mundy has 34 tackles, Willie Young has 7.0 sacks, and Kyle Fuller has three interceptions. All of the Bears wins this season have come on the road.

New England is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 7-3 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Chicago is 8-19-1 against the spread in their last 28 games, 1-6 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, and 4-1 against the spread on the road against a team with a winning home record. The favorite has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.

This just looks like a lot of points and I expect the Bears to play inspired football and to at least get the cover.
