Titans vs. Texans - 10/26/14 NFL Pick, Odds, Prediction

Houston Texans (3-4) at Tennessee Titans (2-5)

NFL Football: Sunday

The Line: Tennessee Titans +1 -- Over/Under: 43.5 See the Latest Odds

The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans will play Sunday afternoon at LP Field.

The Houston Texans blew a Monday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and have now lost three in a row. The issues for the Texans start on the defensive side of the ball, as they’re allowing 21.4 points, 387.3 yards, and they’ve forced 15 turnovers and 13 sacks. Jadeveon Clowneyhopes to return from a knee injury but remains questionable. Brian Cushing leads the Texans with 50 tackles and J.J. Watt has five sacks. Arian Foster continues to be the Texans workhorse on offense, as he’s scored at least one touchdown in three straight games and leads Houston with 615 rushing yards. Ryan Fitzpatrick is shaky at best, as he’s completing 65.1 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Fitzpatrick has thrown three touchdowns and one pick in his last three games. Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins have combined for more than 900 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and the Texans have 23 passing plays of 20 or more yards.

Titans vs. Texans - 10/26/14 NFL Pick, Odds, Prediction

The Tennessee Titans are coming off a last-second loss to the Washington Redskins and are facing their third straight losing season. A combination of Jake Locker and Charlie Whitehurst is completing 58.6 percent of their passes for nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Locker remains questionable for this matchup with a hand injury. Delanie Walker has caught 31 of the Titans 126 receptions and Kendall Wright has caught three touchdowns in his last three games. The Titans have 17 passing plays of 20 or more yards and five different players with double-digit receptions. Bishop Sankey leads the Titans with 267 rushing yards and Tennessee has four rushing touchdowns overall. The Titans have scored 20-plus points just twice this season. Defensively, the Tennessee Titans are allowing 24.6 points, 371.6 yards, and they’ve forced 11 turnovers and 18 sacks. Michael Griffin leads the Titans with 50 tackles and Jurrell Casey has four sacks.

The Texans are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 vs. AFC and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. AFC South. The Titans are 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 home games and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games in Week 8. The Texans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Tennessee.

The Houston Texans are simply the better team in this matchup and needs this win more to have any hope of sniffing a playoff berth. The Texans have better playmakers on both sides of the ball and should have little trouble winning this game as long as they can avoid stupid turnovers that cost them last week against Pittsburgh.
