TV:

Week 9 in the NFL begins tonight, and all eyes will be on the Saints and Panthers in the coming hours. While we’re waiting on kickoff, let’s take our daily look around the league and check out some of the notable players out there who are making headlines. Here’s the latest.

It’ll be interesting to see if Bengals WR A.J. Green is able to play this week against Jacksonville. He’s been out for the last few weeks fighting off a toe injury, and the Bengals offense has suffered the consequences.
If Green does indeed play, he says he’ll be playing the whole game, and won’t be limited by any kind of snap count. For the record, he reportedly looked pretty good running routes in practice yesterday, but we’d still call him questionable heading into the weekend.

Good news for Chargers RB Donald Brown. He returned to practice yesterday--in pads--after missing out on three games with a concussion.
In a related situation, fellow RB Ryan Mathews has missed a half-dozen games straight due to his sprained MCL. He sat out practice yesterday, leading most people to believe he’ll be sidelined until Week 11 against Oakland. (The Chargers are on a bye in Week 10.)

The Ravens’ Justin Forsett was not able to practice yesterday, according to sources close to the team. He was sidelined due to a leg injury. More on him as the week progresses. If he can’t go, it will be Lorenzo Taliaferro getting the snaps.

Let’s check out the Panthers’ injury report for their Week 9 clash against the Saints tonight. Their questionable players include Kawann Short and Thomas DeCoud. DeAngelo Williams, Nate Chandler and Jason Williams are probable.
Byron Bell, Fozzy Whittaker, Philly Brown, Amini Silatolu and Trai Turner were all ruled out.

Darren Sproles of the Eagles practiced fully yesterday and says he’ll be playing this week against the Texans. He missed out on last Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals due to a knee injury.

The Bengals’ Giovani Bernard was not practicing yesterday, thanks to a hip injury he sustained in Week 8. The team hasn’t revealed much information on his status this week, but the prevailing sense is that his condition isn’t too serious.
That said, the fact that Bernard is missing practice is certainly concerning. He will give way to Jeremy Hill if he can’t go. More on this as the week goes on.
