The Line: Cleveland Browns -6 -- Over/Under: 43.5 See the Latest Odds

The Cleveland Browns and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off on Sunday in Cleveland for a NFL Week 9 matchup.

The Cleveland Browns have a 4-3 record and are one of the most improved teams in the NFL but in the competitive AFC North that is only good enough for last place in the standings. The Browns are coming off of a 10-point win at Oakland that followed a head scratching loss at Jacksonville. The Browns offense is averaging 23.3 points and 355.4 yards per game but as is usually the case at all levels of football the real difference maker is that they are plus 6 in turnover margin.  QB Brian Hoyer has completed 57 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and just two interceptions and he has been sacked 10 times. Cleveland has used a number of running backs but the primary ball carrier is Ben Tate who averages just 3.6 yards per carry and Terrance West has filled in for Tate but he averages just 3.8 yards per touch. Andrew Hawkins has been the Browns top receiver with 36 catches and he is coming off of a an eight catch game last week and Miles Austin provides the deep threat and has 23 catches. Defensively the Browns allow 21.7 points per game despite allowing a 30th ranked 395.6 yards per game and haven’t had a lot of success stopping the run. Karlos Dansby leads Cleveland with 56 tackles including three sacks, Paul Kruger has 5.0 sacks, and Tashaun Gipson has five interceptions. With hopes running high and the team playing well the Dog Pound should be hopping.

Cleveland Browns vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 11/2/14 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have just one win this season and they appear to be going through a rebuilding or just building process with new Head Coach Lovie Smith. The Buccaneers had a chance at win number two last week at home against the Vikings but a fumble in overtime that went the distance the other way was their undoing. The Buccaneers offense averages 29 points which ranks 27th in the NFL and the y are dead last in yards per game at 295.1.Mike Glennon is in at QB and he has completed 58.8 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and four interceptions and he has been sacked 14 times. Bobby Rainey has been the primary running back averaging 4.6 yards per carry and 22 receptions as Doug Martin is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry. Vincent Jackson has 26 receptions and rookie Mike Evans has 25 catches to lead the Tampa Bay receivers. The Buccaneers defense is last in the NFL in points allowed per game at 31.9 and yards per game at 409.9 and they are minus four in turnover ratio. Lavonte David has 80 tackles, mark Barron has 49 tackles, and Gerald McCoy has 2.5 sacks. This is going to be a tough year for the Bucs as they are already playing for next year.

Cleveland is 4-1-2 against the spread in their last seven games, 2-5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 3-0-1 against the spread in their last four home games. Tampa Bay is 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 1-6 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, and 1-7 against the spread following a loss.

The total is at 43.5 and while that is a small number these days I like the under with my free pick. My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the app.
