The New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers face off on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in a Week 10 NFL matchup.
The New Orleans Saints have won their last two games and three of their last four to level their record at 4-4 that is good enough for first place in the NFC South. The Saints offense is averaging 28.4 points and a second best in the NFL 436.5 yards per game and they are unbeaten at home so far this season. Drew Brees has completed 69.6 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Mark Ingram leads the Saints rushing attack with 431 yards and six touchdowns and Jimmy Graham is New Orleans leading receiver with 46 receptions and five touchdowns and Brandin Cooks has 43 receptions and two touchdowns. The Saints defense is allowing 24.8 points and 370.5 yards and are minus six in turnover ratio. Curtis Lofton has 72 tackles, Rafael Bush has 43 tackles, and Junior Galette has 6.0 sacks. The Saints are looking for a string finish and a run into the playoffs as five of their last eight games are at home.
USA TODAY Sports
The San Francisco 49ers have lost their last two games and their 4-4 record is only good enough for third place in the very competitive NFC West. The 49ers offense has struggled averaging just 21 points per game and 345.6 yards despite a plus four turnover ratio. Colin Kaepernick has completed 64.2 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions and he has rushed for 274 yards but he has been sacked 27 times. Frank Gore has rushed for 472 yards to lead the Niners and Carlos Hyde is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and Anquan Boldin is San Francisco’s leading receiver with 45 catches and Michael Crabtree has 37 catches. Defensively San Francisco is allowing 22.2 points and a second best in the NFL 291.9 yards ranking third against the pass and fifth against the run. Antoine Bethea has 43 tackles, Michael Wilhoite has 38 tackles, and Patrick Willis has 34 tackles. With a tough schedule in front of them the 49ers appear to be in trouble.
New Orleans is 7-3 against the spread against the NFC, 35-16 in their last 51 home games, and 4-1 against the spread following a win. San Francisco is 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 road games, 24-11-2 against the spread following a loss, and 25-9-3 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. San Francisco is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games against New Orleans.
The total in this one is at 49.5 and that appears to be on the high side and moving higher but my play is the under. I also have a strong play on who covers the point spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
