NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 11 Schedule and More
November 13, 2014
Tonight begins the NFL’s Week 11 schedule when the Bills and Dolphins clash on “Thursday Night Football.” Before we get settled in for the game, let’s take our daily look around the league and see what’s happening out there.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher made an odd decision yesterday, doing a complete 180 on his quarterback situation. Instead of rolling with Austin Davis, the team will start Shaun Hill this weekend against the Broncos, according to sources close to the team.
Davis is in the doghouse after causing turnovers on three straight drives in the fourth-quarter during an important divisional game against the Cardinals last week.
Hill will be making his return after a thigh injury knocked him out in the season opener.

According to yesterday’s reports from sources covering the Dolphins, there’s virtually no doubt that Ryan Tannehill will be out on the field for tonight’s game against Buffalo. He’s been limited in practice this week, thanks to issues with his shoulder and ankle, but by all indications will be ready to go tonight.
That report seemed to hold true when the Dolphins’ official injury report was released. Tannehill earned a probable designation.
The Giants’ Rashad Jennings was able to practice yesterday, which is a great sign for a team whose running game desperately needs a shot in the arm. Jennings has been gone for the past month with a knee injury and seems to be on track for a Week 11 return against the 49ers, which will be a tough matchup for him.
Out in Denver, Montee Ball was a full participant in practice yesterday. He’s looking pretty good for Sunday against the Rams. Ball has been out of action since October 5, when he sustained a groin injury. Since then, Ronnie Hillman has filled in well, but will be out a couple of weeks with a foot sprain.
The Buccaneers’ Doug Martin was out of practice yesterday. That’s not a good sign for his availability for the weekend. It seems he’s in danger of missing the Week 11 game against the Redskins, so we’ll probably see a heavy dose of Bobby Rainey with some Charles Sims sprinkled in.
After missing out on practice Tuesday, Patriots WR Brandon LaFell was back for yesterday’s session. It turns out he was absent earlier in the week due to strep throat. Despite the illness, it appears he’s now back on track to participate in Sunday’s big showdown with the Colts.
