The Line: Cleveland Browns -3 -- Over/Under: 42.5 See the Latest Odds

The Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans face off on Sunday in Cleveland in week 11 NFL action.

The Cleveland Browns are in first place in the NFC North and they got a little extra rest after pounding the Bengals in Cincinnati last Thursday. The Browns have been a surprise story but they have leapt to the top of one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. Cleveland’s offense is averaging 23.2 points and 354 yards per game and they are led by QB Brian Hoyer who has completed 58.5 percent of his passes with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. Terrance West is the Browns leading rusher with 396 yards and Ben ate has 342 yards and Andrew Hawkins is Cleveland’s leading receiver with 39 catches. The Browns defense is getting it done allowing a 6th best in the NFL 19.1 points per game and 366.6 yards and they have a plus nine turnover ratio. Karlos Dansby has 69 tackles and three sacks, Donte Whitner has 62 tackles, and Paul Kruger has six sacks. The Browns play ugly but they are winning ugly and that is all that matters.

Browns vs. Texans - 11/16/14 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Houston Texans are looking to bounce back from last year’s rough go of it and while they are improved they still have plenty of room for more improvement. The Texans are averaging 22.9 points and 346.7 yards per game and they turn to Ryan Mallett at QB who has thrown four passes in his entire NFL career and who hasn’t ever really looked good on the field in he pro’s. Arian Foster is the Texans leading rusher with 822 yards and seven touchdowns and 26 receptions but he left last week’s game with an injury but apparently it isn’t as bad as it looked and he should be good to go while Andre Johnson leads the Texans in receiving with 48 catches followed by DeAndre Hopkins with 42. The Houston defense has allowed 21.9 points per game which ranks 11th best in the NFL and 391.1 yards and they are plus seven in turnover ratio. J.J. Watt has 8.5 sacks, Johnathan Joseph has 52 tackles, and Brian Cushing has 50 tackles. The Texans are hoping Mallett injects some life into the offense.

Cleveland is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 5-2-2 against the spread in their last nine games, and 4-1-2 against the spread against the AFC. Houston is 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games against a team with a winning home record, and 1-6 against the spread in November. The favorite has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.

The total in this one is set low and for good reason as points may be tough to come by and cold weather should be a big factor so my free pick is the under. I also have a strong pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
