The Arizona Cardinals and the Detroit Lions face off on Sunday in a Week 11 NFL battle of playoff hopefuls.
The Arizona Cardinals have just one loss this season and they lead the NFC West. The Cardinals offense is averaging 24.8 points and 330.9 yards per game but they are plus 12 in turnover ratio. With Carson Palmer out the Cardinals hand the QB reigns to Drew Stanton who has completed 49.5 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Andre Ellington leads the Cardinals in rushing with 582 yards and three touchdowns and he also has 37 receptions while Larry Fitzgerald is Arizona’s leading receiver with 44 catches but John Brown has been red hot of late and has 29 catches thus far. Defensively the Cardinals are allowing a NFL fourth best 18.9 points and 352.8 yards per game and have been outstanding. Rashad Johnson has 55 tackles, Tony Jefferson has 53 tackles, and Larry Foote has 48 tackles. The Cardinals are a handful and even with Palmer out they are going to be tough to beat.

The Detroit Lions are 7-2 this season and they sit in first place in the NFC North. The Lions have played through big injuries all season and they are finally getting healthy. The Lions offense is averaging 20.2 points and 340.1 yards per game and they are plus two in turnover ratio. Matthew Stafford has completed 61.4 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions while being sacked 27 times. Joique Bell has 357 yards rushing leading the Lions as Reggie Bush has been injured and Golden Tate has 66 receptions to lead the Lions but with Calvin Johnson healthy again the Lions are tougher than ever. The Lions defense is ranked first in points allowed per game at 15.8 and yards allowed per game at 283.4 and they have been rock solid. DeAndre Levy has 86 tackles, Ezekial Ansah has 5.5 sacks, and Tahir Whitehead has 48 tackles. The Lions have been a fringe team in recent years but they seem to have found answers with Head Coach Jim Caldwell.
Arizona is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, 16-5 against the spread against the NFC, and 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Detroit is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 2-7 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. The home team has covered the point spread in 10 of the last 11 meetings of these two.
The Cardinals are without Palmer but it has been the defense and the turnovers that have been the difference makers, look for that to be the case once again here.
