The Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers play a AFC West matchup at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Oakland Raiders continue to struggle on both sides of the ball and haven’t won a regular season game in a calendar year. Derek Carr is completing 61.1 percent of his passes for 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Carr has four touchdowns and four picks in his last two games, and he’s completed better than 60 percent of his passes in two of his last three games. James Jones and Andre Holmes have combined for more than 800 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, while Mychal Rivera has 21 of his 34 receptions in his last three games. The Raiders ground game is dead last in the league, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry and Darren McFadden is the only Oakland player with more than 100 rushing yards. McFadden has both of the Raiders only rushing touchdowns and he’s rushed for 34 yards in his last two games. Defensively, the Oakland Raiders are allowing 28 points, 372.4 yards, and they’ve forced eight turnovers and eight sacks. The San Diego Chargers have lost three straight games and are coming off a bye week. Philip Rivers is completing 67 percent of his passes for 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions and is probable despite a hand injury. Rivers has three touchdowns and five picks in his last two games, and the Chargers have lost 13 straight games when he throws at least two interceptions. Malcom Floyd and Keenan Allen have combined for more than 1,000 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Antonio Gates has caught at least one touchdown in four of his last five games. The Chargers are averaging 3.1 yards per carry, as Branden Oliver leads the way with 371 rushing yards and he hasn’t scored in three straight games. Defensively, the San Diego Chargers are allowing 20.7 points, 342.3 yards, and they’ve forced nine turnovers and 15 sacks. Eric Weddle leads San Diego with 64 tackles and Brandon Flowers has seven pass deflections.
The Raiders are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games in Week 11 and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Chargers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in San Diego and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings overall.
No matter how bad the Raiders appear to be, this is a heated rivalry that always seems to be close. The meeting earlier this year was decided by three points and five of the last seven games have been decided by 10 or less points. These teams don't like each other and you can throw a lot of the stats and stuff out the window when they meet. Give me Oakland and the 10 free points.
