NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 11 Schedule and More
November 16, 2014
We’ve got a big day of NFL action ahead of us, and the Week 11 matchups will be getting started in the next few hours. Before we settle in for kickoff, let’s check out some of the notable players and storylines happening around the league in today’s headlines.
Let’s take a moment to check out the Steelers’ injury report for tomorrow night’s game against the Titans.
The team will be without a host of players: Steve McLendon, Troy Polamalu, Ryan Shazier, Ivan Taylor, and Shamarko Thomas have all been ruled out.
Among the probable designations for tomorrow’s game are Cortez Allen, Brett Keisel, Arthur Moats and Ross Ventrone. Ventrone and Allen are the only two on that list suffering from actual injuries.

While we’re at it, we’ll swing on over to Tennessee to check in on their injury situation for “Monday Night Football.”
All five players on the Titans’ injury report have been deemed questionable for the game. Those players are NT Sammie Lee Hill, RB Dexter McCluster, TE Delane Walker, RB Leon Washington and CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson.
Yesterday, we got some new information on the Texans’ Arian Foster. He was downgraded from questionable to out, and won’t be playing in Week 11 at Cleveland.
In his place, the Texans will start backup RB Alfred Blue, who has 234 yards on 68 carries thus far. It’ll be his second start this year.
Foster is fighting a groin injury that he sustained in Week 9 against the Eagles. He wasn’t able to practice all last week. We’ll keep tabs on him and check his status again before the Week 12 game against the Bengals.
The Giants lost a running back yesterday, placing Peyton Hillis on the season-ending injured reserve list. He’s suffering from a concussion, which marks his second such injury in the last two seasons. Due to the head injuries, he’s only been able to play in 16 games over that time.
Hillis ends this 2014 campaign with 26 carries for 115 yards in nine appearances. He’ll be undergoing another MRI tomorrow as a precautionary measure since this is his third concussion.
