NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 12 Schedule and More
November 17, 2014
Most of the Week 11 NFL games are in the books, but we’ve still got one more left this evening before we can start looking forward to Week 12. In the meantime, let’s visit this morning’s headlines and see which players are making news out there.
SNF Wrap-Up: In last night’s marquis matchup of AFC elite on “Sunday Night Football,” we got a fairly one-sided affair, thanks to the exploits of Patriots RB Jonas Gray. He posted 38 carries for 199 yards and four touchdowns, accounting for the lion’s share of the Patriots’ 244 rushing yards.
All of that effort turned into a 34:21 to 25:39 time of possession advantage, which is crucial in a game like this. In the end, New England got a big road victory 42-20 and established themselves as AFC favorites.
Also of note, and adding injury to insult, the Colts’ Ahmad Bradshaw and Dwayne Allen each went down with an injury and had to leave the game. We’ll keep an eye on both guys this week to see what the damage ends up being.

One of the big shockers from yesterday’s slate of games was the Rams’ surprise victory over the Broncos. Newly reinstated St. Louis QB Shaun Hill had a nice game, posting a 20-for-29 line for 220 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.
Hill flourished with Kenny Britt in the first half, finding his WR for 127 yards and a score. We’ll see if the duo can keep it up this week in San Diego.
The Redskins’ Jordan Reed injured his hamstring during the loss to the Buccaneers. He had just two grabs for 22 yards on the day.
This seems to be a recurring injury for Reed, who missed four games earlier this year with the same ailment.
Back to the Broncos for a moment, let’s check out a few of their injury concerns this week.
Just when RB Montee Ball got healthy enough to return to action, he re-injured his ailing groin, twice aggravating the condition, and was removed from the game. He had quite a limp on the sideline.
Big tight end Julius Thomas sustained an injury to his ankle in the first half, posting only three yards on two grabs before exiting.
As if that weren’t enough, Emmanuel Sanders came out with a concussion in the third quarter and was unable to return.
This will be a big week for the Broncos, who will host Miami on the 23rd. We wouldn’t be surprised to see all three of these players sitting for that one, but we’ll keep you posted as new information becomes available.
