NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 12 Schedule and More
November 19, 2014
We’ve got just one more day to wait before the NFL gets going again with “Thursday Night Football” between the Chiefs and Raiders. In the meantime, there’s plenty of news to go over, so with that in mind let’s check out some of the notable names out there and see what everyone’s up to.
There were several injury casualties in Week 11 of the NFL season, one being the Colts’ Ahmad Bradshaw. The team officially put him on season-ending injured reserve yesterday thanks to a fractured fibula suffered late in the team’s loss to New England.
It’s unfortunate; Bradshaw had been enjoying a resurgence this season, posting over 700 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns in 10 games. Depending on how well he recovers, his availability for next year’s training camp may be in question.

The Steelers released oft-troubled running back LeGarrette Blount yesterday, just hours after he left Monday’s game due to lack of playing time.
Blount didn’t get a carry in the Steelers’ win against the Titans, as the team rode Le’Veon Bell to over 200 yards on the ground.
Blount has played for four teams in his five-year NFL career and has often faced character concerns due to his attitude.
Carson Palmer had surgery yesterday to repair his ACL, and by all indications things went well. He was injured in Week 10, but had to wait for the swelling to subside in his knee before he was able to undergo the procedure.
Palmer inked a three-year extension with the Cardinals ($50 million) just a couple of days before getting injured. If all goes well, he might be able to return for OTAs next summer.
Yesterday, the Browns waived RB Ben Tate, who didn’t even make it through a single season in Cleveland. He had amassed 333 yards on 106 carries (with four scores) through eight games, but had taken a backseat recently to Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West in a crowded backfield.
The Raiders’ Derek Carr sustained an injury to his quad during Week 11 in San Diego, but seems to be trending toward playing tomorrow’s game against the Chiefs.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see Carr on the injury report when the list comes out today, but there doesn’t seem to be any indication that he’ll miss time.
