The Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets face off on Monday in Detroit in a Week 12 NFL AFC East matchup.
The Buffalo Bills are in third place in the AFC East and even at 5-5 they are still in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs and they are coming off of some extra rest after losing to the Dolphins on Thursday Night in Week 11. The Bills offense is averaging just 20 points and 321.6 points per game which ranks them in the bottom third of the NFL. QB Kyle Orton has completed 64.9 percent f his passes with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions but he has been far less than spectacular. Fred Jackson is nursing an injury and is questionable and Bryce Brown has been seeing action in the backfield but he has been disappointing. Sammy Watkins is a superstar in he making at wide receiver with 45 catches and five touchdowns and Robert Woods has 36 catches. The Bills defense allows 20.4 points per game, which ranks them ninth in the NFL, and 321.6 yards per gam which ranks them sixth while they have a plus seven turnover ratio. Preston Brown has 74 tackles, Nigel Bradham has 63 tackles, and Marcell Darius and Mario Williams have 10 sacks each. The Bills have lost their last two games.

The New York Jets had a bye last week but they are coming off just their second win of what has been a miserable season. The Jets offense has been pathetic averaging just 17.4 points and 319.4 yards per game both of which rank near the worst in the NFL. Michael Vick is in at QB and he has completed 55.9 percent of his passes with three touchdowns and an interception. Chris Ivory leads the Jets in rushing with 548 yards and five touchdowns and Eric Decker has 43 catches and four touchdowns. The Jets defense allows 26.5 points per game which ranks 28th in the NFL but just 323.7 yards per game which rank seventh and that disparity is a byproduct of their minus 11 turnover ratio. Demario Davis has 75 tackles, David Harris has 73 tackles, and Dawan Landry has 71 tackles. The Jets played their best game of he season two weeks back beating Pittsburgh decisively.
Buffalo is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, 1-5 against the spread against the AFC, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four home games. New York is 2-5 against the spread against the AFC, 1-4-2 against the spread following a win, and 1-5-1 against the spread following a cover. The home team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
We have two bad QB’s and two good pass rushes and throw in some bad weather and this one could be tough to watch. I see the Bills winning but I will take the points in a game where it figures to be about a three point difference either way.
