The Minnesota Vikings and the Carolina Panthers face off on Sunday in NFL action in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Vikings have lost their last two games and they are in last place in the NFC North as they continue with the building process. The Vikings are averaging 18.4 points and a 30th ranked 309 yards per game behind QB Teddy Bridgewater who has completed 60.3 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and seven interceptions. Jerrick McKinnon has been the Vikings primary ball carrier gaining 538 yards and Greg Jennings is Minnesota’s top receiver with 40 catches and three touchdowns. The Vikings defense allows 22.2 points and 342.5 yards per game and they are a net zero in turnover ratio. Robert Blanton has 78 tackles, Anthony Barr has 66 tackles, and Harrison Smith has 62 tackles. Despite the record the Vikings don’t appear to be all that far from being a winner.

The Carolina Panthers are on a five game losing streak but even so they aren’t even close to being out of the hunt for the NFC South title. The Panthers offense is averaging 19.5 points and 327.2 yards per game and are led by QB Cam Newton who has completed just 58.6 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and he has rushed for 293 yards and two touchdowns. Jonathan Stewart has rushed for 323 yards and two touchdowns and Greg Olsen has caught 56 catches with five touchdowns and Kelvin Benjamin has 52 catches and eight touchdowns. The Panthers defense is allowing 27.3 points and 374 yards per game and they are minus two in turnover ratio. Luke Keuchly has 116 tackles, Thomas Davis has 78 tackles, and Charles Johnson and Mario Addison each have five sacks. The Panthers are just a shell of the team they were a year ago.
Minnesota is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 7-2 against the spread in their last nine home games, and 9-2 against the spread following a loss. Carolina is 15-5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games, and 15-7 against the spread in their last 22 road games against a team with a losing home record.
I just find it hard to lay points with the Vikings right now and I will take the points and the Panthers in what is just a lean.
