NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 14 Schedule and More
December 5, 2014
Now that the Bears and Cowboys have finished up at Soldier Field, the NFL’s Week 14 is officially underway. We’ve got plenty to talk about in the next couple of days leading up to the Sunday games, so with that said let’s check out today’s headlines and see who’s making news out there.
TNF Wrap-Up: After three straight 8-8 seasons, the Dallas Cowboys secured their first winning season last night, finishing off the Bears at Soldier Field.
Dallas moves to 9-4 on the year with the 41-28 victory, spurred on by an efficient Tony Romo (21-of-26) and the beastly-as-usual DeMarco Murray (179 rush yards, TD). The Cowboys were up 14-7 at halftime, then poured in 21 consecutive points in the third. Chicago would make a rally late, but it would ultimately fall short as they fell to 5-8.
The Bears also lost WR Brandon Marshall to a rib injury, so we’ll have to check in on his condition this week.

The Falcons’ Harry Douglas was unable to practice during yesterday’s session. He’s on the rebound from a foot injury and normally sits out the first practice of the week, so what he does or doesn’t do today will go a lot toward determining his availability for Week 14.
The Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles was out at practice yesterday, and he got through a full session. He’s coming off a bruised knee in Sunday’s matchup against Denver, but has been okay in practice so far.
Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals says he’s been able to do “everything” at practice the past couple of days. That’s good news for Arizona, as he’s bee out of the past two games due to a knee injury.
The Ravens’ big back Justin Forsett missed practice for a second consecutive day yesterday, which is a huge red flag for his availability against the Dolphins.
Forsett is battling a knee issue, and if he can’t go against Miami, it’ll be trouble for the Ravens.
In other Ravens news, WR Torrey Smith says he’s going to be playing against the Dolphins. He’s missed the last two days of practice due to a knee issue.
