The evolution of tight ends has changed the game of football. 1. In 12 postseason games over the course of 11 seasons, Indianapolis Colts TE Dallas Clark had 847 receiving yards. I’ve gotta say, we miss the man in Indy. 


2. In 13 postseason games with 3 teams, TE Keith Jackson racked-up 834 receiving yards in his 9 year NFL career. Jackson was, at various times, on the rosters of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Miami Dolphins, and the Green Bay Packers. 


3. TE Shannon Sharpe, who split his 14 year NFL tenure between the Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens, had 814 receiving yards in 18 postseason match-ups. 


4. In 11 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, TE Brent Jones had 740 receiving yards in an impressive 20 playoff games. 


5. TE Jay Novacek, who played 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, had 645 receiving yards in his 13 postseason appearances. 


6. San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis, who is about to begin his 10th NFL season, has already earned 600 receiving yards in 6 playoff contests, including 2 NFC Championships and a Super Bowl. 


7. TE Heath Miller, who has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2005, has had 573 receiving yards in the 13 postseason games he has played in so far in his career. 


8. Russ Francis, TE for  both the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers over the course of 18 NFL seasons, had 474 receiving yards in 9 playoff starts. 


9. Antonio Gates, who has played TE for the San Diego Chargers since 2003, has had 464 receiving yards in 10 postseason games thus far. 


10. TE Billy Joe DuPree, who played with the Dallas Cowboys for 11 seasons, had 447 receiving yards in his 20 playoff appearances.
