NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
February 25, 2015
We’ve reached the middle of another NFL off-season week, and we’ve seen some interesting storylines coming out of the league recently. That said, let’s check out some of the key players and situations out there to see who’s in the news.
A report came out yesterday saying that the Cardinals are currently in negotiations with DE Darnell Dockett in an effort to reduce his cap figure.
Dockett is heading into the last year of his deal, which will pay him $6.5 million with a $9.8 million cap hit.

The Panthers are short one left tackle, according to sources close to the team. Byron Bell was told yesterday by the team that he would not be re-signed.
This comes after Bell played 15 games for the Panthers in 2014. He was with the team for four years.
The Falcons inked FB Patrick DiMarco and DE Cliff Matthews to deals yesterday. Both were set to become free agents (DiMarco would have been exclusive-rights, while Matthews would have been unrestricted).
Are the Bills trying to trade for the Rams’ Sam Bradford? Well, that depends on who you ask. There was a series of conflicting reports on the subject yesterday, with some saying the team was trying to make it happen, while others said they weren’t interested.
Bradford is coming off his second straight torn ACL, so regardless he’s no certain property to say the least.
Speaking of players coming back from injuries in two straight years, the Ravens’ Dennis Pitta has done exactly that as well, only he’s had troubles with his hip.
GM Ozzie Newsome didn’t sound too confident on Pitta’s chances of coming back at 100 percent in 2015, but we won’t know much for sure until the summer. In the meantime, Baltimore will stockpile some depth at the TE position.
