NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
March 11, 2015
There was a flurry of activity yesterday as the new NFL league year got kicked off. Let’s take a look at some of the key developments and ongoing storylines as we enter day two of the new calendar.
The Eagles and Rams swapped quarterbacks yesterday, with Sam Bradford going to Philadelphia along with a fifth-round pick this year and Nick Foles taking his talents to St. Louis along with a fourth-rounder this year and a second-rounder next year.
Bradford has dealt with a host of injuries over his career, and has 59 touchdowns with 38 interceptions to show for his efforts.
As for Foles, he took a step backward last season after showing some major promise in 2013.

TE Anthony Fasano is set to be meeting with the Bengals on a visit in the next couple of days, and at some point will check out the Titans as well. Wherever he lands will be NFL team No. 4 for him.
Proving the rumors true, the Colts and RB Frank Gore agreed to contract terms yesterday. The ex-49er had initially had a structure in place with the Eagles, but cancelled at the last minute.
Gore’s presence offers a much-needed boost to the Indy backfield that hasn’t gotten much of anything out of Trent Richardson.
The Pats are inking WR Brandon Gibson to a one-year deal worth $825,000, according to sources close to the situation.
Gibson last played with the Dolphins.
The Jets were sniffing around free-agent RB Roy Helu yesterday, and his old team (the Redskins) is out of the running to re-sign him. He agreed to terms with the Raiders later in the day.
Helu has good hands out of the backfield, which is probably his strong point. He posted 42 catches for 477 yards (a career-high) in 2014.
