We’re getting close to the weekend, as another NFL off-season week trickles by. We’ve got just over a month left until the 2015 draft, and in the meantime there’s plenty to talk about. Let’s get things going with our morning look at the headlines.

CB Terrence Newman has a new home today. He agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Vikings yesterday.
This will reunite Newman with Mike Zimmer; the two have worked together in Cincinnati.

The Packers’ Jordy Nelson had a “cleanup” on his hip following the Pro Bowl this past season, according to Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy.
This doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about. Nelson is expected to be just fine in time for OTAs this off-season.

Now that the Buccaneers are supposedly going to take QB Jameis Winston with the overall No. 1 pick at the draft this year, all eyes are on Marcus Mariota, who would in all likelihood be the second QB off the board.
The Redskins coaching staff and front office have made some comments in recent days about potentially snagging a quarterback at No. 5 overall, and Mariota could realistically still be there when the team picks. What Washington does with that pick will likely decide the fate of current No. 1 QB Robert Griffin III, who may or may not get his fifth-year option picked up.

The Jets inked blocking TE Kellen Davis to a one-year deal yesterday.
Davis is 29 years old and played in six games for the Lions last season.

We could be seeing a contract extension for Saints DE Cameron Jordan in the very near future. He’s entering the last year of his current deal and will make almost $7 million in 2015. He and the team have reportedly been talking about a new deal.
Jordan is 25 years old and has 20 sacks in his past two years.
