NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
April 25, 2015
We now have just five days left until the 2015 NFL Draft, so start getting your plans ready for Thursday evening. While we’re waiting, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the news.
It looks like veteran wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has found a new team. Word broke yesterday that he’d be signing with the Tennessee Titans.
Nicks posted career-lows in 2014, putting up 38 grabs for 405 yards and four touchdowns during his time with the Colts. He’s 27 years old.

The Lions picked up the fifth-year option on offensive tackle Riley Reiff yesterday.
This extra year will earn Reiff over $8 million. He’s been a durable player over the last three years, starting all but one game.
What’s next for Chargers RB Branden Oliver? Well, he posted 853 yards and four touchdowns in a solid season on the ground and through the air in 2014. This off-season he’s been working on power, strength and agility, according to the man himself.
Oliver is setting his sights on better consistency in his numbers in 2015. We’ll see how that plays out once the season gets here.
Speaking of running backs, let’s check in on Colts RB Vick Ballard. He’s coming off a ruptured Achilles in 2014, which cost him the entire season.
Ballard will be ready for the Colts’ training camp if everything goes well, and he’ll be looking to get back to his 2012 numbers. He put up 814 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie.
Ballard has been wrecked by injuries in the past two years: he played in just one game during the 2013 season before tearing his ACL in practice.
