NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Off-Season Schedule and More
June 28, 2015
We’re almost through another NFL off-season weekend, and over the past couple of days we’ve seen lots of interesting developments out there. Let’s take our daily look at the headlines and see who’s in the news.
The Broncos’ Jeff Huerman, who is a rookie third-round pick at tight end, continues to recover from his torn ACL.
Huerman hurt himself last month, and will still miss all of the 2015 season, but the good news is that he continues to improve each day. Denver fans will have to wait several months before getting a good look at him.

Buccaneers top draft pick Jameis Winston has some very tangible goals this off-season. One of the most important is an effort to shed some weight and get himself into top shape.
Winston will be training hard over the next few weeks as he attempts to drop a little weight before heading into training camp. He says he’s sitting at around 238 pounds right now and is trying to get back to around 230.
Rams fans won’t have to wait a whole lot longer on 10th overall pick Todd Gurley. He’s coming off an ACL injury, but will have his knee looked at and evaluated within the next few weeks.
Now that Darren McFadden has shipped out of town in Oakland, it’s going to be Latavius Murray’s role as the lead dog in the backfield.
Murray seems focused on the task and believes he’s got a lot to prove in 2015. He’s coming off 424 yards and two scores last year while carrying a nice 5.2 YPC.
Agents for Cowboys star WR Dez Bryant and representatives for the team have met face-to-face for the first time in almost four months, according to a report.
Bryant is looking for a long-term deal and has threatened to sit out Week 1 if he doesn’t get a new deal. He’s playing for franchise-tag money this year at $13 million, but hasn’t signed the tender.
